Introduction: Electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide uses renewable or nuclear energy as the electrical power and carbon dioxide/water as the reactants to produce fuels and chemicals, such as carbon monooxide, formic acid, methanol etc. under relatively mild reaction conditions. On the other hand, thermo-reduction of CO2 has the advantages of lower production cost and convenience for scale-up. We hope to combine the advantages of conventional electro-catalysis with solid-gas-interface thermo-catalysis to realize highly efficient reduction of CO2.
